Irma “Mimi” Ruiz brings forth in every interaction her 25+ years of experience in corporate training and design, communication strategy, non-profit leadership, endurance sports competitions, as well as 15 years of a disciplined contemplative practice.

Corporate Trainings & Organizational Development

Irma has facilitated an average of 24 training sessions a year for the past two decades impacting over 500 managers annually with consistent outstanding evaluations, given her uniquely humanistic and systemic approach that ensures a meaningful integration of the content with the participant’s role.

A former Senior Vice-President at Banco Popular, she has tackled new environments after complex organizational changes; designed managerial training for new software integrations; formulated internal and external communications strategies; and spearheaded initiatives for integrating Hatha Yoga and Awareness practices to boost the well-being of employees

Mindfulness & Workplace Wellbeing Programs

An accredited teacher from the renowned Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR) at the University of Massachusetts Medical School-Center for Mindfulness and the Brown Mindfulness Center, Irma has devoted thousands of hours in service to those curious to discover their potential to live fully present with clarity, equanimity and joy.

Since 2014, Irma has designed and facilitated mindfulness-based workplace programs tailored for private and public-sector institutions that operate in advertising, education, executive recruiting, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and legal services, impacting more than[1,500] individuals.In [2019] Irma implemented the first MBSR program in Puerto Rico for teachers in one of the leading private schools, an exciting first step towards incorporating mindfulness-based practices for student

Community Leadership

For 8 years Irma presided over the Board of Directors of Scuba Dogs Society, the leading environmental non-profit organization in Puerto Rico responsible for placing the Island in the top 20 countries in the world, out of 97 participating countries, for mobilizing over 10,000 volunteers in the yearly International Coastal Clean Up sponsored by the Ocean Conservancy.

Irma played a pivotal role in the Organizing Committee of the XXI Central American and Caribbean Games that were celebrated in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico in 2010, where she helped develop the Master Plan for the Games, the marketing and branding, as well as designing and facilitating training sessions for 300 volunteers responsible for hospitality and protocol during the Games. She has also served over 2,500 individuals through her Hatha Yoga and Meditation sessions as well as one-day workshops.
